Marathon

Welcome back readers
I recently read the blog of a new friend I had made (Delusional Realities, I'll link it down below for anyone who wants to check it out)

I thought that maybe if I helped people escape their realities and make their day better with my blogs then I should do that.

But saying that and doing it are two different things. How can I help people escape the crude reality of our world without addressing it? It's impossible.

I'm talking about Odisha Bandh. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I'll address it. On July 17th, there was a state lockdown because of a student who committed suicide.

The reason?

No one listened to her when she fought back after being continuously harassed by one of her college professors.

She burned herself because of the negligence of her college faculty. No one listened to her.

It physically pains me that women have to constantly prove themselves. Always running, always fighting.

I can't help people escape without knowing what to run from.

Running...

It's such a fascinating sport. It portrays so many different emotions. Happiness, anger, sadness, tenacity, fear.

I used to run. I did it because it made me happy. But somewhere along the lines of the track, happiness turned to fear, then force, and finally...

Anger.

I've mentioned this before but I'll do it again, anger is a powerful emotion. It's like a raging fire.

I'm sure that girl had a fire too. A dream to fulfil, a goal to reach. Before life took her too early. And all because there was no one to listen.

Women have been underestimated since the start of time and will continue to be till the end of it.

As far as we know, all inventions could have been made by women. The only reason we don't know for sure is that many women had to file patents under men's names because of the society at that time.

And based on how society treated women at that time, fairytales were created to push the same ideology toward younger minds.

Times have changed. But minds haven't.
That girl had a bright future ahead of her. She was running and she would've won...
If only someone had listened.

Bye readers! See you next time!
